Altbau parquet is old-growth wood — often 80 to 120 years old — and it holds moisture differently than modern laminate. We never use steam mops or standing water on original parquet.

We apply Bona Parquet Cleaner diluted to 1:10 with a barely-damp microfibre flat mop, working with the grain. Stubborn scuffs get a small amount of Bona Hardwood Floor Polish buffed in by hand. The floor dries in under four minutes. No warping. No white haze. No warranty-voiding.

Post-renovation dust is a different material from household dust. Fine silica particles settle into every surface — inside cupboards, behind radiators, on top of door frames — and they scratch surfaces if wiped dry.

We begin with a HEPA-filter vacuum across every horizontal surface before any wet cleaning. Plaster residue on tiles gets a targeted application of Lithofin Cement Remover, neutralised and rinsed twice. Window reveals, light fittings, and radiator fins are cleaned individually. We typically need 4–6 hours for a post-reno deep clean of a standard 2-Zimmer.
